Who we are
Superfoil Roofing ("we", "us", "our") is a family-run roofing and insulation contractor based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for the information you provide to us. If you want to get in touch with us about privacy, please email info@superfoilroofing.co.uk or phone 07777 444 221.
What information we collect
We collect only the information we genuinely need to quote for work, carry out that work, and comply with our legal obligations. Typically this includes:
- Contact details โ your name, postal address, email address and phone number, so we can reply to enquiries and arrange visits.
- Property details โ the address we're surveying or working on, the type of roof, photographs of the loft or roof, measurements and condition notes.
- Enquiry content โ anything you type into our contact form, including the service you're interested in and any notes you share about your project.
- Correspondence โ copies of emails and text messages between us, and notes of significant phone calls, kept to manage your project and resolve any disputes.
- Payment and invoice information โ if you become a customer, we keep records of invoices, payments and financial correspondence as required by HMRC.
We do not knowingly collect information about children, and our services are not aimed at children.
How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes, each with a corresponding lawful basis under UK GDPR:
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote โ lawful basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
- Carrying out work we've agreed โ lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- Sending you paperwork, warranty documents and aftercare information โ lawful basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests (standing behind our work).
- Keeping accounting records, responding to HMRC, and complying with building regulations โ lawful basis: legal obligation.
- Responding to complaints or legal claims โ lawful basis: legitimate interests (defending our position fairly).
We do not use your information for marketing unless you have given us clear, separate consent to do so. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any message we send you, or emailing us.
Who we share your information with
We keep your information in-house wherever possible. We only share it where we have to, and only the minimum necessary. The organisations we may share with are:
- Our email and IT providers โ so your emails and files are stored and backed up. Reputable UK/EU-based providers only.
- Our accountant โ for bookkeeping, invoicing and tax returns.
- Local Authority Building Control (LABC) โ where a job is notifiable and evidence of compliance is required.
- The manufacturer (SuperFOIL) โ where we need to validate a product warranty claim on your behalf.
- Insurers, regulators and legal advisers โ if a complaint, accident or claim arises.
We will never sell your data to marketing companies, list brokers, or any other third party.
How long we keep it
Enquiry-only data (you contacted us but we didn't go on to work for you) is kept for 12 months and then deleted, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Customer records โ including contracts, quotes, invoices, warranty paperwork and project photographs โ are kept for 10 years after the final work is completed. This matches our workmanship warranty period and covers the statutory limitation periods for construction claims in England and Wales. Accounting and tax records are kept for 7 years as required by HMRC.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses the minimum cookies needed to function. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If we add a simple privacy-respecting analytics tool in future (for example to see which pages are most useful to visitors), we will update this notice and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data, which you can exercise free of charge:
- Right of access โ ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification โ ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Right to erasure โ ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention rules above.
- Right to restrict processing โ ask us to pause how we use your data while a question is resolved.

- Right to data portability โ get your data in a portable format where the lawful basis is consent or contract.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@superfoilroofing.co.uk. We'll respond within one calendar month.
If you believe we've mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first โ but either way is your choice.
How we keep your information safe
We use reputable, password-protected systems with multi-factor authentication for our emails, quotes and accounting. Paper records โ survey notes and printed quotes โ are kept in a locked office and shredded when they reach the end of their retention period. Only the staff who need access to your file have access to it.
