Getting the best out of your survey
A good site survey takes about 45 minutes for a typical home. We look in the loft (with a torch and a moisture meter), inspect the roof externally, check the condition of the existing covering, measure the rafter depth and note any junctions or tricky details, and ask you what you're trying to achieve — warmer bedrooms, cooler summer upstairs, Building Regs compliance, or a combination. From that we can recommend the right product (SF19+, SF40 or something else), an accurate materials take-off, and a day-by-day install schedule.
If you can, have a think before the visit about where you'd like skips and vans to sit, whether neighbours need warning about scaffolding, and when you'd ideally like the work done. We don't need answers on the day — but it makes the written quote that much tighter.
